Vetram

Vetram is a large series of islands, generally sparsely-populated, most famous as the organizational center of the Church of Akadi. A mountainous region, Vetram is known for its cold conditions which make most of the islands tundra. Though the islands do have a lay population, its largest city is the temple complex forming the holy city of Albeser. Albeser contains not only Akadism’s largest ascetic monastery, but also the homes of its spiritual leaders and the sizable library belonging to the Church. In addition, Albeser is itself a major port city in keeping with Akadism’s exhortation for its followers to travel extensively.

The government of Vetram is technically a democracy, but with such a large proportion of the island’s inhabitants belonging to the Church, Akadism has a de facto position of leadership on the island. As a result, the country follows the Akadian calendar of holidays, and while other religions are welcome in Vetram, Akadism is the state’s official religion.
