The Skies of Velaris
Ichiba is the god of trade, markets, and international relations. Appearing as a halfling, he is a lawful good god whose symbol is the merchant’s scales. Ichiba urges his followers to approach each commercial interaction with beneficence and charity. He says that treating your partner with kindness is the best way to secure future happiness for both of you, even if it means extending a temporary credit for the present. Clerics of Ichiba preach that creating the most wealth among the most people is life’s highest calling, and his adherents tend to enter commerce for humanitarian rather than greedy reasons. Small shrines to Ichiba are common sights in shops. These shrines consist of a small altar on which is set two trays, symbolizing the cooperative nature of trade. Onto the trays, worshipers place a small mound of symbolic wooden coins. Holidays in the church of Ichiba include bank holidays, market workers’ holidays, and days to celebrate business relationships. Ichiba is the unofficial patron deity of Leafsdown.
